Overview

Through primarily hands-on engineering activities, you will lead the development of Power Platform solutions for a range of simple and complex applications within RSSB, such as our future industry safety and sustainability platforms, and our Power BI enterprise reporting. You will also act as a champion for the technology, supporting business users to develop their own applications, automation and reporting, and use the technology to solve business problems.

As a member of the digital engineering function, you will be part of multi-disciplinary teams, giving opportunities to gain experience in other engineering disciplines, such as web and data. You will also work with the wider Azure ecosystem when developing and deploying solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement new features, enhancements, and defect corrections across our Power Platform solutions.
  • Take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of technical work items as part of wider project delivery.
  • Maintain a user-centred approach and rapid iteration cycle.
  • Provide expert input to the shaping, sizing & planning of technical delivery work.
  • Provide expert input to analysis & design activities with the businesses, championing opportunities to reduce complexity and realise value.
  • Ensure that agreed standards are applied to achieve well-engineered outcomes, and that own work and that of colleagues meets standards, through appropriate review processes.
  • Provision and maintain environments, deployment processes, and testing processes to enable fast and reliable changes to enterprise Power Platform components.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and deliver new value from our digital products, by bringing an understanding of technical capabilities to business problems and coaching others.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Experience developing solutions with Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate, and Dataverse.
  • Experience developing with Power Query, MDX, DAX, and Power BI security models.
  • Understands the software development lifecycle, controls, and governance.
  • Experience engineering digital solutions against functional requirements.
  • Familiar with user experience design approaches and activities.
  • Communicates effectively and shares thoughts and ideas through methods appropriate to the audience.
  • Adapts and responds effectively when embracing new opportunities, change and in navigating uncertainty.
  • Actively contributes as part of a team and work towards achieving team goals and outcomes.
  • Takes responsibility and demonstrates accountability in completing tasks and achieving objectives, actively seeking to resolve problems and identify opportunities.
  • Committed to customer service and placing customer satisfaction at the heart of our success to ensure we deliver against our shared goals.
  • Can work collaboratively within an evolving industry, gaining stakeholder confidence through understanding their goals and motivations and demonstrating credibility as an expert.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with the architecture and development lifecycle of Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement.
  • Experience developing with custom connectors and APIs.
  • Understands the Power Platform operating model, license arrangements and cost model.
