Nomination Rules and Conditions

Categories and Criteria

Each category has different entry criteria; please review this criteria before placing your nomination. This information is available on the Categories page.

You may nominate individuals, teams and organisations in multiple categories. However, a completed Nomination Form must be submitted in each category for each such individual, team or organisation.

Nominees must be residents of the UK (including Northern Ireland) and the works included in the nomination must have been completed within the UK.

Any and all comments made on your nomination should be accurate to the best of your knowledge.

Entry is completed solely on your application form, there will be no site visits.

Nominations

Members of the Women in Rail team – including Trustees of the Board and Regional Leaders – are not eligible for nominations.

Individual Award Category Sponsors cannot enter an award in the category that they are sponsoring. Any nominations that are submitted by a representative of the sponsor within their sponsored category will be dismissed during the judging process.

By entering these awards, you agree to our business partners and sponsors having access to your contact details.

By entering the awards you agree to partake in publicity of the awards, including the use of any images taken.

Any financial information provided will be treated in the strictest confidence and will not be disclosed to anyone other than the panel of judges.

Judging

The Women in Rail Awards 2024 Judges will be industry representatives, who are well respected experts in their field.

The Judges reserve the right to transfer your nomination to another category if it is deemed more appropriate.

The Judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Due to the number of entries received, Judges cannot provide individual feedback on applications.

Entrants must be available for consultation with the Judges should the need arise.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you have obtained the necessary internal approvals prior to submitting the nomination form and that the information contained in your nomination form is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge as this information will be relied on by the Judges when making their selection.

Please note that any additional supporting evidence attachments will only be taken into consideration if your nominee is shortlisted by the Judges – we would therefore encourage you to put your stronger arguments in favour of your nominee in your nomination form.

Shortlisting and Winning Nominations

Nominees successfully shortlisted will be notified by no later than Friday 5 April 2024.

A minimum of 1 representative from each shortlist will be required to attend the Women in Rail Awards evening at their own cost.

Please note that due to the nature of the Awards Ceremony, Children under the age of 16 will not be able to attend.

By entering the awards, you authorise us to use personal data collected during the registration process for the purposes of administering the awards, and receiving/circulating further information regarding the awards and other relevant events from time to time. Case Sensitive Material

During the Women in Rail Awards ceremony, information about the shortlisted nominees will be disclosed (precis style). Should your entry contain information which you deem of a sensitive nature, please let us know by clearly specifying the relevant sensitive information on your Nomination Form so we can ensure it is not disclosed during the evening.

Permission(s)

When submitting your entry, please ensure you have obtained any permission which you know or ought to know is necessary to be obtained (such as, for instance and without limitation, authorisation to disclose third party material) to support your nomination.

Nomination Deadline

The deadline to place nominations for the Women in Rail Awards 2024 is Friday 26 January 2024. The Women in Rail and Women in Rail Awards team reserve the right to extend the deadline.
