On Tuesday 23^rd June, Claire Perry, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Transport, delivered a speech at the New Civil Engineer UK Rail Conference 2015 to set out the Government’s commitment to invest in transport infrastructure, and rail specifically, over its five year term.

The speech specifically highlighted the work of Women in Rail in pursuit of a higher level of female employment in the sector, referencing the work that we are doing alongside the Rail Supply Group.

The exciting project we are currently working on with the RSG is a survey to establish the rail industry’s male:female ratio, with a view to paint a positive picture of the rail industry as the home of many fantastic career opportunities for both men and women.
