The Women in Rail East Midlands’ event “First Step to the Next Step” took place on 12th October at the Derby Conference Centre. The event was aimed at men and women seeking to unlock their full potential by sharing experiences with industry leaders and life coaches who hosted expert tables where they provided practical advice on a range of topics covering health, mindset and career.

The event was sponsored by RTC Group Plc with CEO Andy Pendlebury opening proceedings and the keynote speaker was Squash Falconer, an intrepid adventurer and presenter who shared her experience of climbing Mount Everest to inspire everyone to achieve their own personal goals.

M&S Beauty were onsite providing skincare advice and offering complimentary makeup refreshments for those joining us straight from work.  M&S also donated a wonderful range of gift baskets for the raffle which took place at the end of the evening.

The event was a huge success with over 100 attendees enjoying the opportunity to network before joining our experts.  A post-event survey was issued with superb feedback from attendees who enjoyed taking their own personal journey in a relaxed setting with likeminded professionals.

We would like to thank Andy Pendlebury and the RTC Group Plc for sponsoring this wonderful event and all our experts who provided their time, knowledge and talent for free.

A special thank you to Squash Falconer for her inspirational talk and event organisers Sarah Reid, Charmaine Welch and Rebecca Adams from the Women in Rail East Midlands Leadership Team.
