Join us at this volunteer day in the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, WR North West are helping with essential maintenance work at this fantastic Heritage railway. Come along and meet passionate railway people!

The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway opened in 1867 as a private railway until it’s nationalisation in 1948, when the line became part of British Railways. The branch closed in 1962 but reopened in 1968 due to local influence. Since 1968 the lines have been owned, operated and managed entirely by qualified volunteer members of the Preservation Society ever since, the sale of the Worth Valley branch was the first privatisation of any part of British Railways.

Our event is a volunteer day in the railway, where you will be helping with drainage maintenance. You will need PPE (as a minimum: Gloves, Boots and Hi Vis vest), be willing to work and learn, please register if you want to participate. Remember as volunteer day you can potentially claim volunteer leave with your employer.

Note: PTS not needed, you just need to be willing to work. ?

Keighley & Worth Valley Railway – The maintenance will take place close to one of the stations for easy access to site and facilities.
