We are currently looking for volunteers to support as Online Coaches.

At The Access Project, we support students from under-resourced backgrounds to access top universities through a programme of tuition, coaching and in-school mentoring. We work with them to make strong applications, get the grades and transition to university.
Why We Exist
Talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not.
Access to education in the UK is profoundly unequal. According to The Sutton Trust, students from the most under-resourced backgrounds are three times less likely to attend university than their more advantaged peers.
Our vision is to level the playing field and help the country’s most under-resourced young people place at top universities, giving them the best chance at achieving social mobility.
The Access Project is recognised as an industry leader in the education and widening participation field.
Volunteer Coaches
This opportunity focuses on providing skills-based coaching to young people aged 16 to 18 years. The opportunity asks for only one hour a month of a volunteers’ time across six months, running from January until June 2025. Training and onboarding available over the autumn months.
No prior experience necessary, as a comprehensive online training and onboarding process helps all volunteers establish pedagogical knowledge, confidence and access to our bespoke resources. All volunteers benefit from tailored on-going support from professional staff throughout their time on the programme, enabling them to be inspirational coaches for our young people.
The Volunteer Coach role is for professionals who would like to use their skills and experience to help a young person’s professional development, and for those who are looking to build upon their own skillset and knowledge.
This is a prime opportunity to pay your own experience forward and help a young person achieve their full potential and be ready for their next steps into education and future careers.
