This role can be based at any of our office locations: London, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, York or Glasgow.

The Licensing team carries out ORR’s licensing function, ensuring that operators of railway assets are licensed on a proportionate, equal and consistent basis, with no misalignment of obligations. Our work includes dealing with applications for licences and exemptions, or the regulation of activities where already licensed.

As the lead for Licensing, you will proactively identify and respond to licence issues related to the railway, managing and advising stakeholders on handling, to address issues first hand. This important work promotes effective and efficient  operation of the railway in the public interest..

At ORR we have adopted hybrid working and are currently expected to work from a workplace location for a minimum of two days per week.

Regional office salary range: £52,867-£58,386

London office salary range:  £57,114 – £62,698
