Location: Midland Metro Ltd, Wednesbury Depot, Potters Lane, WS10 0AR
Salary: £40,892 up to £46,023 Depending upon experience
Contract: Permanent, Full time

We are now recruiting for a Network Manager to support Midland Metro Ltd.’s mission which is to provide and maintain a safe, reliable and efficient operation of the West Midlands Metro Network.

You will be responsible for leading a team of Network Controllers (NC) providing appropriate training and mentoring to the team to build a professional culture within the Operational Control Centre (OCC).

As part of the depot expansion project the OCC will be relocating to a new purpose-built control room. Your involvement and experience will be essential through the mobilisation pf the new control room.

In addition to this as our Network Manager, you will be responsible for:

• A dynamic approach to planning and implementing departmental strategy and policy.
• Manage incidents on the network and give instructions to restore service as soon as possible in a safe manner.
• Give clear instructions to the NC to deliver the best service in normal conditions and in case of disruption.
• Report significant occurrence on the network on Agility, update Smart Tram and Spotlight, calculate lost mileage precisely and give information to the OCC Manager and Senior Management.
• Provide clear and detailed reports as and when required, managed fact-finding post incident reports or full investigations, including retrieving CCTV downloads.
• Monitor and manage, via SCADA, the OHLE power supply to the network.

To be successful in this role, it is essential that you have:

• Relevant light rail/rail transport industry experience in an operations department.
• To have proven experience of managing a tram network.
• Network Operations and customer service expertise.
• Experience of implementing a range of service changes, process and improvements.
• Acts on own initiative and able to take a creative, innovative approach as well as work as part of a team.

It would be great if you had an ILM level 3-5 (or equivalent) in supervisory leadership or management.
