ORR is the health and safety regulator for all of Britain’s rail industry. One of ORR’s strategic objectives is to enforce the law and ensure that the industry delivers continuous improvement in the health and safety of passengers, the workforce and public, by achieving excellence in health and safety culture, management, and risk control.

This exciting and challenging managerial role leads on some of ORR’s key health and safety regulatory activities. Reporting to RSD’s Head of Capability, the post holder will lead for RSD on the development of Safety Management Systems (SMS) strategy and policy and how we regulate duty holders in this area, to enable them to work towards achieve excellence in safety management. A key tool for enabling excellence is ORR’s Risk Management Model (RM3), and a key part of your role is promoting use of RM3 by industry and providing advice and guidance on its application.

At ORR we have adopted hybrid working and are currently expected to work from a workplace location for a minimum of two days per week.

Regional office salary range: £57,114-£59,906

London office salary range: £57,114 – £58,486
