Join Us as Committee Members for the South Region
Women in Rail (WR) South are looking for passionate and committed individuals to join their Committee . This position is an opportunity to work alongside the Chair to drive WR’s mission of promoting diversity, inclusion, and the advancement of women within the rail industry in the South.
About the Role
As a Committee Member, you will collaborate with the Chair to design, promote and engage with Women in Rail’s activities. Your joint efforts will focus on creating an inclusive environment, engaging with local stakeholders, and promoting careers in the rail industry to younger generations.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the committee to plan, organise, and occasionally lead regional meetings, events, and initiatives.
- Actively promote WR’s mission and objectives within your network and the broader community.
- Engage with key stakeholders, including industry leaders, educational institutions, and public bodies, to advocate for diversity and inclusion.
- Engage with key stakeholders to grow support and advocate for WR regional events
- Inspire young people to consider a career in the rail industry by showcasing the opportunities and benefits available.
- Commit to 1 committee meeting per month to discuss events etc
Who Should Apply
We are looking for individuals who:
- Are passionate about equality, diversity, and inclusion, especially within the rail industry.
- Have experience or an interest in community engagement, and event planning.
- Are good communicators and team players, able to collaborate effectively with others.
- Have connections within the rail industry or related sectors in the south (though rail experience is not essential).
