Being LGBT+ South Asian and Free To Be Me

Tuesday 13th August 11:00-12:00

To mark the 5th anniversary of South Asian Heritage Month (SAHM) we would like to celebrate those from the South Asian community who identify as LGBT+ along with allies. We are delighted to welcome the founder of GIN (Gay Indian Network) LGBTQ+ Indian & South Asian Network, Joshi Mayank.

GIN started in September 2018 with 7 people meeting in Soho for drinks. They now have over 2.000 members. Its aim is to support and connect the LGBTQ+ community of Indian & South Asian heritage and their friends and allies in the United Kingdom.

GIN host 5 to 6 diverse meetups every month where members can come together in safe places, have fun and get to know each other, make friends and build up their chosen families. Join us to learn more about GIN and hear about Joshi’s own personal journey and insights.

GIN is open to all LGBTQ+ people of any nationality or race that are interested in getting to know more about India, Indian culture and LGBTQ+ people of Indian Origin.

A cross industry collaboration marking SAHM theme: Free to Be Me with thanks to: Women in Rail, Network Rail’s LGBT+ network Archway and the Gay Indian Network (GIN)
