WR East Midlands: British Sign Language (BSL) Workshop for the Railway

Women in Rail East Midlands is delighted to invite you to a BSL Workshop in partnership with the Railway Industry Association

The Event

14^th – 20^th March is British Sign Language Week, and in honour of this Women in Rail and Railway Industry Association will be hosting an event: Sign Language for Beginners.

Our railway has made huge strides in becoming more accessible for non-hearing passengers and colleagues alike. This session will be a celebration of British Sign Language and the power of communication it brings to many. Please join us at the Atkins SNC-Lavalin offices for a teaching-style session followed by coffee and networking.

Guest speaker: Amanda Elkin: EMR

Amanda is a qualified sign language instructor and has delivered great sessions in Derby before. Her charismatic yet simple approach to teaching sign language aims to encourage conversations between hearing, deaf or partially deaf colleagues.
