On Thursday 6th April, Women in Rail held a mentoring workshop at the offices of Angel Trains in London.

The workshop will be led by Mike Taylor (Managing Director, Accelerating Experience Limited and formerly member of EMCC (the Mentoring and Coaching industry body)’s Executive and Advisory Boards) and Nicki Crossland (Managing Director of Qi Performance and leader of the Women in Rail West Midlands Group) who both have extensive experience in training, coaching and mentoring mid to senior managers and executives.

We also heard testimonies from mentee Chloe Williams, Rail Graduate at the Go-Ahead Group and mentor Alero Abbey, Area Manager Green Park at London Underground, on their experience of the Women in rail Mentoring Programme and more generally the benefits of mentoring and being mentored.

It was an interactive session comprising presentations and practical exercises to help get a better understanding of mentoring, develop the skills to be a successful mentor and/or mentee and foster a rewarding mentoring relationship.

It was a fantastic evening and the feedback has been amazing.

A very warm thank you to all those who attended and a very special thank you to Chloe, Alero, Nicki and Mike!
