Women in Rail West Midlands invites you to Together We Engineer — an uplifting evening of ideas, inspiration and connection as part of International Women in Engineering Day 2025.

This year’s event explores how collaboration at every level helps us build stronger, more inclusive teams and smarter engineering outcomes.

What to Expect

Live Panel: “Together We Engineer”

This session takes its inspiration from our previous Women in Rail event, SLC’s Generation Rail, where we explored the idea of reverse mentoring. Reverse mentoring involves junior colleagues sharing their perspectives in a way that can benefit senior team members, too.

Building on that theme, the panel will bring together eight participants — four junior and four senior professionals — to discuss what it’s like working together across different levels of experience.

We hope to explore how junior staff find working with senior colleagues — what works well, what they enjoy, and where there’s room for improvement. Equally, we’re keen to hear from the senior panellists about what they’ve learned from these cross-generational interactions.
