Women in Rail is delighted to launch a brand new regional group for Wales.
Supported by Transport for Wales Rail Services, the group will be launched at a special lunchtime event on 26th June, at One Canal Parade, Cardiff Vale College Business Centre when we will hear from our panel of speakers, each of whom will be sharing their own experiences and career journeys, and their thoughts on how to improve diversity in rail in Wales. They are:
Sam Hawkins, Chief Financial Officer, Transport for Wales Rail Services
Alison Thompson, Chief Operating Officer, Wales & Borders Route, Network Rail
Alexia Course, Director of Rail Operations, Transport for Wales
Marie Daly, Director of People and Engagement, Transport for Wales Rail Services
The new group is led by regional Chair Jo Seabright, Marketing Consultant to the rail industry, and a steering group of rail leaders from across Wales – find out more about the team and their objectives on the WR Wales regional page
We’re really pleased that Women in Rail is now able to reach out to its members in the region, especially at such a pivotal time for the sector in Wales as transformational plans to radically improve the railway in Wales are underway.
The new Women in Rail regional group will provide opportunities for members to expand their professional and personal network locally and, through development workshops and access to a unique cross-industry mentoring programme, receive the support they need in their professional development and growth, thus contributing to attracting, developing and retaining female talent in UK rail.
The group has ambitious growth plans, as it will showcase the benefits of gender balance, diversity and inclusion to like-minded groups and businesses and seek to attract more women into the rail workforce in Wales.
We hope you can come along and find out more about our plans for the Wales group.
