International Women in Engineering Day (INWED18) takes place on 23rd June 2018 and is an international awareness day to support, inspire, celebrate and raise the profile of women in engineering.

As part of International Women in Engineering day, WRWM is delighted to be hosting an event in conjunction with Network Rail to raise the profile and celebrate the achievements of women in Engineering and encourage more women to consider engineering as a career.

Network Rail’s aim to deliver a better railway for a better Britain is underpinned by the knowledge that world class businesses take account of the diversity of the communities that they serve and that to be effective they need to attract and retain talent and inspire all those that work there.

Women in Rail actively promote open, diverse and inclusive businesses and in this Year of Engineering our efforts are to support a profession where more women thrive.

Confirmed speakers for the event are:

  1. Helen Samuels – Infrastructure Projects Engineering Director for Network Rail
  2. Ellen Wintle – Infrastructure Maintenance Delivery Manager for Network Rail
  3. Lucy Ellis – Rail Engineering Apprentice for Laing O’Rourke
  4. Emilia Hardern – Business Manager (Diversity & Inclusion) for Network Rail
