Dear Friends and supporters of Women in Rail,

We are launching the 2020 Women in Rail cross-industry mentoring programme on Wednesday 27th November 2019 at Neyber, 3 Finsbury Ave, London EC2M 2AR, from 17.00 (registration starts at 16.30) to 19.00.

At the launch, we will outline the key features of the 2020 Programme, explore the importance of mentoring and hear from key industry supporters of the Programme, Kirsty Derry (HRD, East Midlands Railway), Paul Plummer (CEO, RDG) and Polly Payne (Directors General, Rail, DfT).

Details of the Programme can be found on the Women in Rail website: here. As you will see, a key feature of the Programme this year is its opening to male mentees (as well as female mentees) who, to the extent possible, will be matched with a female mentor working in UK rail.

Please note that the design of the programme requires for organisations to decide if they want to take part and, if so, to nominate a Programme Partner who will be the main point of contact to mentors and mentees in their organisation and work collaboratively with the WR Mentoring Team throughout the nine month programme. So please share this with your HR and L&D teams or other decision makers in your organisation who may be interested in finding out more.

The Women in Rail Mentoring Programme also supports a Women in Rail Charitable Pro-Bono Fund which purpose is to enable women who are job seekers, in transition, on care leave, or from organisations not taking part in the Programme, to join in free of charge. Of course, specific and strict eligibility criteria do apply and the number of pro-bono places is limited.

If you would like to attend the launch and find out more, please click on the RSVP link to register and to join us .

We have had an enormous amount of interest in the event so if you have registered but are no longer able to join us on the night, please let us know or cancel your ticket on Eventbrite so we can release the space to people on the waiting list – thank you.

In the meantime, if you have any queries, please e-mail us on copying from the Moving Ahead and WR Mentoring Team.

Please do share this e-mail with anyone you feel would be interested in taking part in the Women in Rail Mentoring Programme 2020.

We look forward to seeing you next Wednesday!

Best wishes,

The WR Mentoring Team
