The feedback received from our members indicated that many were keen to explore in more details the multiple facets of flexible/agility working with a particular emphasis on how it has developed in the rail sector. To that end, Women in Rail, in partnership with Stephenson Harwood, ASLEF, WTS London and The Timewise Foundation organised an event to explain what flexible working means in practice, highlight some of the key challenges faced by employers and employees in both the rail industry and non-rail sectors and outline the benefits which may be gained in supporting flexible/agility working.
It was an interactive session comprising presentations and testimonies from rail and non-rail speakers, employers and employees, including, amongst others, Anna Walker (ORR Chair), Rachel Skinner (Parsons Brinckerhoff), Peter Twelftree (SDG Steer Davies Gleave) and Emma Stewart (The Timewise Foundation).
