Following another fantastic Book Club session, filled with open conversation, personal reflections, and thoughtful support during some brave and challenging discussions, we’re excited to be looking ahead to our next meeting which will be held on;

October 19th at 18:00 via teams.

After exploring powerful themes through our first two books, from eye-opening data to deeply emotional storytelling, we’ve decided to do something a little different for our next read. While continuing to tackle an important topic, we’ll be approaching it through humour and satire.

As October marks Menopause Awareness Month, we’ve chosen The Menopause Murders by Mary Maloney and Ed Markel. This dark comedy follows a housewife who discovers that committing murder appears to cure her severe menopause symptoms, leading to a series of unexpected and outrageous events.

The authors describe the book as offering both comic relief and insight into the challenges of menopause, helping readers better understand an experience that remains misunderstood and often difficult to discuss openly. By combining humour with an important conversation, the novel shines a light on a topic that is still considered one of society’s last taboos.

We look forward to coming together once again for what promises to be an engaging, thought-provoking, and entertaining discussion.
