Women in Rail Scotland is proud to announce the launch of a new business focused book club called “Beyond the Book Club”.
The books chosen will feature leading and inspiring women who can provide advice for our personal development and will be supported by other materials, including podcasts and Ted Talks to encourage inclusive participation in the group and discussions.
“Beyond the Book Club” will be held every-two months, with the launch date the 11 May @ 7pm. We’ll be kicking off with the book “Dare to Lead” by Brené Brown, where we will explore “Armoured versus Daring Leadership”.
Discussion will be facilitated by Johannah Randall, Women in Rail Scotland Committee Member.
The event will take place on Zoom. Please add the event to your diary when you sign up. We will send you a reminder with the Zoom link a few days before the event.
Please make use of the links provided. Podcast description – “The greatest barrier to daring leadership is not fear; the greatest barrier is armour, or how we self-protect when we’re in fear. This is Part 1 of a two-part series, where I unpack the most common types of armour, including being a knower versus being a learner, tapping out of hard conversation versus skilling up and leaning in, and using shame and blame to manage others versus using accountability and empathy. Join me for a conversation that includes real examples and actionable strategies about how we can dare to lead.”
