Mental Health First Aid Workshop
Following on from our previous successful mental health focused event, Women in Rail Scotland is pleased to partner with QTS Training Ltd to host an online Mental Health First Aid Workshop.
Led by QTS Senior H&S trainer, Erik Priessman, this workshop will focus on how to recognise when colleagues, or yourself, may be experiencing mental health issues. Erik will also delve into what First Aid for Mental Health is and how to approach someone that you think may be having mental health issues.
Many of us are often nervous of taking the first difficult step of starting a conversation with someone that we are concerned about and of knowing what advice and signposting that you should provide. Erik will discuss the role of a mental health first aider and the importance of using non-judgemental communication and listening skills to encourage someone to seek the correct professional help or to look for self-help techniques. Following the presentation there will be the opportunity to put forward any questions in the Q&A session.
