Personal safety, particularly for women, has been a prominent talking point in the news and media in 2021. Whilst we, as an industry, work hard to place personal safety and security high on the agenda our railway is not immune from challenge.
The Rail Delivery Group have been working closely with the British Transport Police and Train Operators to take further steps to enhance safety, address issues (including of underreporting of crime and unwanted sexual behaviour) and to support those who are vulnerable.
This webinar is your opportunity to find out more about the steps being taken and to put your questions to the panellists including:
- Paul Green, Vulnerability and Safeguarding Practitioner, Rail Delivery Group
- Victoria Pond, Operational and Security Manager, Chiltern Railways
- DCI Sarah White, Chief Inspector Lorna McEwan and Inspector Becky Fryer, British Transport Police.
The webinar will take place via Zoom and there will be an opportunity for you to post questions during the event. You can also send in your questions in advance to south@womeninrail.org
