Leading with Difference: Practical Insights for Women Leaders

Experience tells us that organisations and teams led by women are often more collaborative, productive, and successful, but leadership stereotypes are still couched in masculine terms like the ‘alpha male’. These stereotypes are more prevalent in industries traditionally employing more men and are reinforced in younger men by cultural trends such as ‘toxic masculinity’ and the ‘manosphere’.

We owe it to ourselves, our colleagues, and future women leaders to advocate for the strengths more commonly associated with women. We can best do this if we have a better understanding and greater confidence in our differences and the qualities and advantages that we as leaders bring.

In this talk we learn about new evidence of physiological, behavioural, and cultural factors that we can apply to increase the difference we make. Essential results of this difference are greater psychological safety and the breaking down of silos. We will also consider the blockers that women create for ourselves and how we can overcome them.

Join us to share practical tips and techniques throughout.
