Women in Rail Yorkshire & NE are thrilled to announce our flagship annual event, celebrating 200 years of the modern railway.
We are delighted to be featuring a host of inspirational women, so join us at the Milner York (right next to the York station) on Thursday 9th October to hear tales of Women in Rail – Past, Present and Future.
Hosted by Women in Rail Yorkshire & NE Co-Chairs, Isobel Crockford and Bethany Draper, we have some truly inspirational speakers on Past, Present and Future including the Winner of Women in Rail’s Inspirational Women of the Year 2025, Ellie Burrows.
Past – Local museums curators will talk us through some fascinating tales from WiR Past. The region between Durham and Darlington has a rich legacy of pioneering women whose contributions to social reform and the rail industry deserve the spotlight.
- Charlie Barron, Interpretation and Exhibitions Officer, The Story, Durham
- Alison Grange, Collections Engagement Manager, Hopetown Darlington
Present – We hear some personal journeys of progression and progress from current senior Rail Female Rail leaders.
