Redefining Leadership
What really makes us successful
Online event organised by WR Yorkshire & North East and open to all WR Regions
Up-to-date research into what makes leaders and managers successful reveals evidence of a wide range of attributes and skills that both men and women demonstrate.
Yet common stereotypes often undervalue so-called ‘feminine’ attributes and skills and emphasise the importance of ‘masculine’ attributes and skills.
These stereotypes are unhelpful, restrictive, and inaccurate. Evidence shows us that women leading organisations and teams focus more on collaboration, thereby generating psychological safety and breaking down silos. But rather than leading to failure, this leads to greater efficiency, engagement, and productivity, and better results.
We can all build greater confidence in ourselves and develop our careers if we have a better understanding of all these successful attributes and skills, and the associated advantages they bring. Let’s bust the stereotypes!
In this talk we learn about new evidence of physiological, behavioural, and cultural factors that we can apply to develop our skills and increase the difference we make. We will also consider the blockers that we create for ourselves and how we can overcome them.
Join us to share practical tips and techniques throughout.
