We are delighted to inform you that Women in Rail (WR) is today launching a new initiative to identify and celebrate the 20 Rising Stars of the UK rail industry 2017!

This initiative is the first of its kind and aims to showcase remarkable women who are in the early stages (e.g. the first 5 years in the aggregate) of their career in the railway but have already made an impact on their fellow men and women and are on track to become the leaders and inspirational women of tomorrow.

Nominees could include a colleague who has demonstrated outstanding technical abilities and personal values, who has shown potential in shaping the future of our industry or displayed tremendous initiative and pro-activity, either by trying something different or empowering men or women in our sector, a woman whose behaviour and professionalism has been exemplary and who has inspired others to support fellow women and/or to opt for a career in rail.

We want to hear about women who may not have previously been recognised for their achievements. We want to showcase them as role models to others and share their inspirational stories.

The 20 winners will be celebrated for their achievements and contribution to the UK railway industry and their interviews featured in an official WR report.

This is a true opportunity to acknowledge, commend and cultivate the diverse range of rising female talent within our railway.
