This month Women in Rail is launching the first shortlist of inspirational women in rail. The list will be made up of 20 women who have made a significant impact on the industry.

The campaign looks to not only celebrate women in the rail industry but also raise their profile within the rail sector, as well as communicating the fulfilling and exciting nature of a career in rail and the variety of roles available.

It will showcase women who have made a lasting impression on their peers and within the sector, honouring winners as role models for all girls and women wanting to pursue a career in the rail industry.

What is an inspirational woman in rail?

We are looking to hear from the whole rail industry about women who go that extra mile, whose achievements are far-reaching or perhaps have changed your life for the better. A woman in the industry, who has positively influenced you, your team or your career. It could be a peer, a manager or a woman you know or have come across in the railway industry who has been an inspiration to you.

How does the shortlisting process work?

Inspirational women need to be nominated by peers and managers. Women in Rail’s esteemed committee will decide on which of those are the most inspiring.

Nominations open on the 4^th of February and will close on the 25^th of March  8^th of April.
