Role Overview
Stadler Rail is seeking an experienced leader with strong commercial awareness who can bring people, processes and performance together. Leading the business support function, the successful candidate will create an environment where people can thrive, drive continuous improvement and build strong stakeholder relationships while helping shape the future direction of Stadler Rail’s business.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build strong and trusted relationships with customers and key stakeholders, ensuring excellent service delivery and long-term partnership success for Stadler Rail.
• Support the delivery of contractual commitments, balancing customer needs, operational priorities and business objectives.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, efficiency and customer experience through effective planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure resources, processes and priorities are aligned to Stadler Rail’s business needs.
• Contribute to commercial discussions, contract variations and performance reviews, helping to drive sustainable business success.
• Use data and insight to identify risks, opportunities and areas for improvement, supporting informed decision-making.
• Promote a culture of safety, inclusion, accountability and operational excellence across Stadler Rail.
Experience

The successful candidate will be skilled at building positive relationships, bringing people together and influencing stakeholders at all levels to achieve shared goals. They will have experience driving continuous improvement, using data and insight to support decision-making, and balancing customer, operational and business priorities. Most importantly, they will be a collaborative and adaptable leader who enjoys creating positive change, developing others and helping organisations perform at their best.
Skills and Qualifications
• Proven experience in a leadership, operational, business support or service delivery role.
• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to balance business, customer and operational priorities.
• Experience driving continuous improvement and positive change.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively, influence others and build high-performing relationships.
• Comfortable using data and insight to support decision-making.
• Competent in Microsoft Office and other business systems.
• A leadership or management qualification (or equivalent experience) is desirable.
• Experience within rail, transport, engineering or other operational environments is desirable.
