An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Eurostar as a Maintainer Engineer.

As a Maintainer Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in our day-to-day operations, from routine maintenance and fault diagnosis to substantial fleet modifications. While prior rail experience is advantageous, it’s not essential. We offer an extensive training program tailored to bring you up to speed.

Our engineering teams operate on a flexible shift pattern encompassing days, lates, and nights, ensuring a 24/7 operational presence. The specific shifts may vary depending on task requirements and team assignments.

This is a permanent role based in our Engineering Centre, that is located in Leyton East London.

We’re looking for someone to…

  • Servicing excellence: Take charge of servicing, maintenance and repair tasks on our rolling stock fleets, aligning with your competency level.
  • Component Expertise: Conduct ad-hoc repairs and replacements of main running components, electronic modules, and heavy-duty power equipment.
  • Optimal Condition: Ensure our rolling stock assets remain in prime condition by delivering meticulous servicing and maintenance at the highest standard.
  • Proactive Safety: Actively raise safety observations, concerns, or recommendations that could enhance our operations, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Continuous Learning: Ensure you are keeping up to date with your competencies and attending relevant training courses.

Requirements

We’re looking for someone who has…

Essential

  • Diverse Engineering Background: Previous experience in an engineering environment, whether in rail, plant or vehicle maintenance, or similar fields are highly valued.
  • Analytical Skills: Demonstrate the ability to make precise assessments and decisions regarding component and system condition, adhering to industry best practices and company standards.
  • Keen Technological Interest: Stay abreast of the latest technological advancements and evolving work methodologies, showcasing a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
  • Professional Integrity: Exhibit a strong work ethic that can be trusted to meet service and customer demands consistently, ensuring reliability and efficiency in all tasks undertaken.
  • Adaptability and Learning Agility: Showcase your capability to utilise or quickly learn software packages, enabling seamless integration of system status and efficient recording of work activities.
