About the Programme

Our 18–24 Month Structured Development Programme
Our programme is designed to transform today’s Operatives into tomorrow’s Technicians and Team Leaders. You’ll gain in-depth knowledge of manual, electrical, and digital S&T equipment while learning from experts in maintenance, design, installation, testing, and fault-finding. Upon successful completion, you’ll step into a Technician role within S&T, equipped with critical skills, an IRSE Licence, and the leadership competencies to support safety and technical excellence.

What Our Technicians Do
As an S&T Technician, you’ll be pivotal in ensuring safe and efficient rail operations. From signals and level crossings to points systems, you’ll gain hands-on experience while mastering the technical, safety, and leadership skills needed to make a difference. With shifts covering all weather and times, adaptability, teamwork, and a proactive approach will be essential.

Qualifications:

  • Background in electrical, signalling, or engineering environments.
  • Category B driving licence – Manual.
  • Shift flexibility for day, night, and weekend schedules.

Additional Information:

  • Block learning schedule requires structured annual leave.
    • August 4th 2025 – 3rd September 2025
    • November 24th 2025 – January 9th 2026
    • February 23rd 2026 – April 17th 2026
    • June 8th 2026 – September 4th 2026
    • October 19th 2026 – November 13th 2026
    • December 21st 2026 – January 22nd 2027
  • Travel may be required during the programme for training.
  • Salary aligns with IMC Terms and Conditions, with a permanent Technician position upon successful completion.
