Alstom is seeking a Chief of Development to lead the innovation, design and delivery of transformative rail technologies that will define the next generation of mobility.

Please note: This opportunity relates to a major UK rolling stock contract based in Derby. The role is being recruited in anticipation of contract award, and any appointment will be conditional upon Alstom securing the contract. Further details, including anticipated start dates, will be discussed during the recruitment process.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

• Partner with the Project Manager/Director and project team as the customer-facing technical authority, ensuring contractual compliance and the successful delivery of development work packages.
• Take ownership of Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD) objectives, technical compliance, progress reporting and risk mitigation.
• Coordinate project teams, sites and product platforms to deliver key project outcomes and resolve technical challenges.
• Drive scalable development strategies to support major multi-site rail projects and future technology requirements.
• Foster collaboration across engineering, operational and commercial teams.
• Promote reliability through robust quality assurance and risk management processes.
• Lead innovation initiatives, integrating emerging technologies and best practice to maintain industry leadership.
